2026 Shim Hun Literary Award Call for Submissions
To honor the literary spirit of Shim Hun, author of Evergreen Tree and When That Day Comes, and to discover and support talented emerging writers, we are accepting submissions as outlined below. We encourage ambitious new writers who will lead the future of Korean literature to show their interest and submit their work.
Eligibility Unpublished newcomers or emerging writers who have not yet published their first collection (a full-length novel or short story collection) since their literary debut.
Categories Novel | The length of a single book
Full-length novel: 500 pages or more Medium-length novel: 3 stories or more Short stories: 6 stories or more (One medium-length story may be substituted for two short stories)
- Unpublished original works or previously published works that have not been released as a standalone book (However, for previously published works, the publication details must be clearly stated at the end of the work)
Prize Money 5 million won
Special Benefits The winning work will be published as a book by Asia Publishing.
Submission Deadline By September 20, 2026 (Submissions must be postmarked by the deadline)

- Please include a separate sheet of paper with your name, date of birth, entry category, title of the work, number of entries (manuscript length), contact phone number, and email address along with your submission.
- Submitted works will not be returned.
- If plagiarism is discovered, the award will be revoked, and the entrant will be held responsible.
- We do not provide individual confirmation of receipt.
